My name is Catherine and this is my blog! I created this blog on a whim, but since then I have realized that I really enjoy blogging. As an English Major in college, I guess this comes naturally. I plan to use this blog as a way to share my ups and downs as I work my way toward a better life. I want to be real and honest with my struggles and achievements. Each week, I will post about my life, my progress, and anything else I think the world should know about.
For most of my life I have lived in Boise, Idaho. After graduating high school, I went to the University of Idaho. Four years later, I returned to my hometown with a degree and a baby boy. Becoming a parent days after my twentieth birthday was not part of my plan for life, but it has certainly made my life interesting.
When I found out that I was pregnant, my baby-daddy and I rushed into marriage. Needless to say, a wedding conceived from fear and religious-parental-pressure is a recipe for disaster. Three years later, I became a divorced, single mom - something I never expected to call myself, especially at the young age of twenty-two. That sounds pretty depressing, right? But I swear my life is way better than I could have imagined: I have the sweetest son, the best (and handsomest) boyfriend, an ideal job, and I just bought a house. My life is falling quite nicely into place. How many 23 years olds can brag about all that??
While my life has certainly turned out differently than I imagined it, I don't have any regrets. I have learned an incredible amount about myself and others around me. I have been able to sharpen my focus on what is important in life and what I want to do with the time I have left on this planet. I created this blog as a way to share my story and hopefully inspire a few people along the way.
